Dear Harrington Park Community,
The Harrington Park School District Board of Education is excited to announce the appointment of our new Superintendent, Mr. Sean Conlon, who will be joining us on July 1, 2023.
Mr. Conlon has 17 years of experience in education, including 9 years as a K-8 teacher and 6 years as a K-12 Language Arts and Social Studies Supervisor at a district level. He has been the Principal at the Merritt School in Cresskill since 2019.
Keenly known by his colleagues as an instructional leader, Mr. Conlon is a passionate collaborator and innovator. Examples include working to develop structures that not only support students academically but also support students’ social and emotional health and well-being. In the same spirit, extracurricular and enrichment activities have also grown and benefited students in meaningful ways during Mr. Conlon’s time in Cresskill.
As a lifelong learner, Mr. Conlon holds an undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University, as well as Masters Degrees from Bank Street College of Education and Ramapo College. He is currently a Doctorate Candidate in Teacher Education and Teacher Development at Montclair State University.
The board strongly believes that his proven track record in career and personal education will translate directly towards working with our administration, staff and community to help students excel academically and socially in a rapidly changing world.
Mr. Conlon currently resides in Bergen County with his wife, a teacher and HP Alum, and their nearly two year old son.
