From the Desk of the President of the Harrington Park Board of Education:
Hello, HP!
Welcome to the 2023-24 school year!
In our first meeting since the start of the school year, the board spent some time reflecting on the great energy shared on the blacktop and around the school on the first day of school. We are grateful and excited to see everyone after a nice and long summer. In these first few days of the school year and of his time at HPS, Mr. Conlon mentioned that he was able to visit every K-8 class and would finish by visiting the Valley students.
During our closed session, the board and Mr. Conlon began work on planning for the District Goals for the 2023-24 year and longer-range Strategic Planning. There are many items on the table but the main focus of the board is ensuring that HPS continues to operate at the high level we have become accustomed to.
Also to be noted is that NJSLA scores from 2022-23 will be shared with NJ school districts in the near future. Once the district has had a chance to receive and review, there will be an opportunity at an upcoming Board of Education meeting where results will be presented to the public. Results will also be shared on the district website.
Our next meeting will be on Thursday, September 21 at 6pm at Community Church.
Kind regards,
Peter Toomin
