Harrington Park AVVD School District From the Desk of the President of the Harrington Park Board of Education The BOE met last Monday and reviewed summer projects as well as completed business for the 2022-2023 school year. The District would like to thank the administrative team as well as the educational and support staff. They have done a fabulous job in leading the school in all aspects such as curriculum, social inclusion, and discipline. The BOE would also like to recognize Ms. Cathy Plunkett and Ms. Linda Zumpano for decades of service and wish both a very happy retirement. Ms.Plunkett served for 27 years, of which she spent 23 years as an Instructional Aide. Ms. Linda Zumpano served for 36 years of service as a Lunch Aide. The entire school and community will miss them very much. The Board approved the second readings of policies and regulations proposed during the last BOE meeting. The Board considered NJ DOE recommendations and updated the policies and regulations to reflect Harrington Park School and the community's core values and vision. During the Executive Session, Ms. Howell and Ms. Giordano previewed a new website they have been developing. We were very impressed with the updated website as key information is easy to find. More importantly, I am excited to have Ms. Howell and Ms. Giordano take on the Webmaster role to continuously update and upload new and relevant content. The new website will be going live sometime this summer! As most of you already saw, we are repaving the blacktop as scheduled. Other facility improvement projects are in the midst of a preliminary planning phase which should run through the summer. In the fall, the BOE is planning to form a committee that includes community members to ensure all aspects are fully considered.
