MEET THE TEACHER Mr. Ross Grade 6 & 7 ABOUT ME MY. Ross can't live without spending time at the beach and his favorite food is chicken parmesan. CURRENTLY READING world civilizations - not really a leisurely reader, he's more of a sports kind of guy! FUN FACT He enjoys coaching hockey and playing golf, and the Rocky Mountains in Colorado is his favorite place that he's visited! FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING IN EDUCATION The idea that leaming and development is a lifelong process. 1 leam something new everyday. I love that i have the opportunity to make the process of learning fun and impactful for students.

Harrington Park School District Cold Weather Important Drop Off & Pick Up Safety Reminders Now that the weather is colder, we have an uptick in cars at drop-off and pick- up. Kindly review the following and share it with any caregivers that do not receive our emails/communications. Morning Drop Off • For both the front "Kiss and Go" and Lynn Street drop-off, parents are asked to please have their child(ren) ready to exit the vehicle before pulling up to the drop-off line. We ask that adults please remain in their cars. • Adults are also reminded that for safety, students should be exiting the vehicle on the side that faces the sidewalk and they should not be exiting the vehicle into the traffic lane. Afternoon Dismissal • For dismissal, parents can not leave vehicles unattended or double-parked in the "Kiss and Go" in the front of the school or on Lynn Street. Parents can not double parking in the Kiss and Go at any time. As the temperatures are dropping, please note that students will be outside for lineup and recess if the temperature is above 32 degrees. Please ensure stuch morning indice g an inite outroor lieup Please note, we do take into consideration the wind chill factor.

Dear HP Community,    It is with great pleasure that we share that Ms. Colette Wise will serve as Interim  Assistant Principal of Harrington Park School from January 1, 2023 through June 30,  2023 with formal approval at the January 5, 2023 Board of Education meeting. Ms.  Wise will replace Mr. Herbert who was recently announced as Interim Principal.    Ms. Wise has been part of the Harrington Park School District since 2015 and has  served as an elementary school teacher and Director of the Summer Escape Program.  Additional roles during her tenure as teacher include soccer and basketball coach at  the middle school level as well as participating on a number of leadership committees  over the years. Ms. Wise has a Masters in Educational Leadership from Ramapo College.    Ms. Nitzberg shared, “Ms. Wise has an energy and drive that will only enhance the  student and staff experience each day. Ms. Wise’s thoughtful decision-making, focus  on the whole child and overall flexibility will be essential in the Interim AP role.”   Mr. Herbert shared, “Ms. Wise has consistently demonstrated her leadership ability  both inside and outside of the classroom. I am confident Ms. Wise will bring the  passion, sound judgment, experience, and her warm-hearted personality that she is  known for, to this new role.”   Ms. Wise shared, “I am truly honored to be given the opportunity to be HP’s Interim  Assistant Principal. My experiences as a teacher, Summer Escape Director, and coach  have prepared me for this new role. These positions have helped me make valuable  connections with our students, parents, staff, and community members. I'm looking  forward to continuing to Lead the Way as Interim Assistant Principal of our HP  family alongside Mrs. Nitzberg and Mr. Herbert.”    Please join us in congratulating Ms. Wise! Harrington Park School District - November 28, 2022 Dear HP Community, It is with great pleasure that the Harrington Park School District announces that Mr. Ross Herbert will serve as Interim Principal of Harrington Park School from January 1st, 2023 through June 30th, 2023 with formal approval at the December 8th, 2022 Board of Education meeting. Mr. Herbert will replace Ms. Nitzberg who was recently announced as Interim Superintendent. Mr. Herbert has been Assistant Principal of Harrington Park School since 2011 and was previously a middle school science teacher at HP with 22 years in the district. Mr. Herbert's versatile leadership skills and deep dedication to the district will only continue to enhance and grow HPSD. We are confident of a smooth transition into this new role. Mr. Herbert has a Masters in Administration and Supervision from Montclair State University, as well as a Masters in Protective Management with a specialization in Emergency Management from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Other recent accolades include being honored in 2021 with a Fifth District Hometown Hero Award from Congressman Josh Gottheimer. Ms. Nitzberg shared, "Mr. Herbert truly embodies an educational leader. Mr. Herbert's dedication to student support and growth, thoughtful planning and dynamic management skills will all contribute to his success in this role. Having worked with Mr. Herbert over the last twelve years, there is no one more fitting to lead our building each day." Mr. Herbert shared, "Over twenty years ago, Harrington Park School District provided a young educator from the Northern Valley an opportunity to join its staff as a Science teacher. Since then, I have had the privilege to work with the parents, staff, and the community of HP to continue the tradition of working together for the benefit of our students.
